Bratkartoffeln is a traditional German dish made with potatoes, onions, and bacon. Enjoy this flavorful dish as a side to your next meal!


1 cup diced bacon
1 small-medium diced onion
3 medium-large potatoes (boiled until just tender, then cut into cubes or sliced)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for serving
Vegetable oil for cooking.

Sauté the bacon in a skillet until the fat is rendered and the bacon is fully cooked.

Remove the bacon and cook the onions in the bacon grease.

Remove the onions leaving behind as much bacon grease as possible. Add the vegetable oil, (about 1/3 cup) to the pan and cook the cubed potatoes until brown.

Return the bacon and onions to the pan, season to taste. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
